STARA’s System Engineering and Integration capabilities encompass design, build, test, and installation efforts. We blend solutions and interfaces together by leveraging our years of experience with various systems, sensors, mechanisms, electronics, and software.
Our iterative approach to System Engineering begins at the conceptual design and propagates through a series of distinct design phases/gates leading to a preferred system solution. We analyze the overarching systems to gain an understanding of their theories of operation and operational environments, while also focusing and extracting critical information of assemblies, sub-assemblies, and components to gain a greater understanding of the overall system’s requirements.
Through proof-of-concept testing and prototype demonstrations, we validate product performance in an operational environment.
Our integration experience started with STARA’s involvement with various customer requests for system integration and modifications. These projects included: system integration of pressure vessels onto aircraft; payload racks onto UAVs; and methods for launching a UAV utilizing STARA’s balloon launcher concept.
In recent years, STARA has responded to the United States Navy’s rapid fielding needs by providing flexible, affordable, and sustainable integration services to support surveillance systems in rugged desert and maritime environments.
As the key system integrator for the Navy’s PGSS program, STARA contributed to the Navy’s Technology Refresh and Upgrade Spirals concurrently with the fielding of PGSS. The spirals were focused on two main categories:
Driven by customer requirements, we have integrated a wide variety of EO/IR Systems and Radar Systems on ground and air-based platforms, and into Command and Control Centers, along with integration of communication networks, portable communication equipment, and solar power systems.
